At GEMS, we pride ourselves on having a positive and active community and our parents play an essential role in our school. We propose an active programme for parents including coffee mornings, a variety of workshops, conference opportunities with teachers, meetings to discuss school improvement topics, as well as having a point of contact to give any feedback and comments. In addition, our parents organize 5 different language conversation clubs, nature walks, ski days and social events.
And that is not all! Parents organise great events and activities for the whole school to enrich the lives of our students, build community, and raise school spirit.
This school year alone, the GPG have organised a Welcome Back Picnic, a Halloween Party and a Winter Market; all a huge success and highlighting the great spirit of our school whilst modelling generosity, being caring and an active member of a community.
The Winter Market was combined with the Etoy “Advent Window” event and we welcomed guests from outside the school. The choir sang beautiful songs, over 20 vendors were present with a large variety of products and our MYP students hosted various activities for young and old, raising money for their chosen charities. Lastly, there was a large second-hand toy sale with proceeds going to the Theodora Foundation, organized by our GPG.
We look forward to the next events; Valentine’s bake sale, movie night and Intercultural Day!
