Lyceum Alpinum Winter Camp

The Winter Camp at the Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz offers just the right thing for a vibrant snow-filled experience. Zuoz is located in the Swiss Alps, close to the world-famous winter destination of St. Moritz. The nearest ski slope is only 200 m from the school and the Lyceum Alpinum has its own ice rinks, which are even illuminated at night.

The Winter Camp focuses on skiing and snowboarding with a selection of additional winter activities in the evenings and weekends. These activities include skating, sledging, snowshoeing, curling and night hikes.

Our supervision and teaching staff are very well trained and able to support beginners and advanced students alike. Each participant will be placed in a suitable group, according to his or her performance level.

Camp participants come from all over the world, which promotes the children’s knowledge of English almost invisibly. We also offer optional English and coding lessons for those who would like to add some academic focus to the programme.

You can book one week, two or even three, with or without an overnight stay.

I was part of the Winter Camp 2020. A typical day was like: I woke up in the morning and went downstairs to have some breakfast together with my roommate. We talked about the news and our homes. I was very excited, and the day just continued as good as it started. At about 9:30, we reached the slope. We got a short introduction and soon stepped on our snowboards. In the afternoon, I contacted my mom to tell her about the day and what I experienced. This day, we were too tired for any further activities in the evening, but my roommate and I had a long chat in our bedrooms.

Actually, I only wanted to go snowboarding during my winter holidays and clear my head. But since I plan to graduate with a bilingual diploma, I also wanted to improve my English skills a little bit. The Winter Camp was perfect for that. The tutors were top-notch and were able to give me valuable tips on language and sports. But the best thing was my roommate. Since camp we have been good friends, we regularly write emails to each other and want to visit each other soon. He comes from New York, and I’m already looking forward to the trip there.
