International Institute in Geneva

The International Institute in Geneva was founded in 1997 with the aim of providing an international education in Geneva. The institution is a not-for-profit Foundation established under Swiss law. Its governance is registered in a Charter which is approved by the Federal Department of Home affairs.

The institute has institutional accreditation with the British Accreditation Council and proposes undergraduate and graduate programmes in Business Administration, International Relations, Digital Media and Computer Science. The Institute offers all Bachelor students the option to graduate in 3 years with two international Bachelor degrees awarded by the University of Plymouth, UK and the International Institute in Geneva (IIG). At the graduate level the International Institute in Geneva has the double degree option with the University of Plymouth and Boston University. The Institute proposes in Geneva the Doctorate of Business Administration DBA awarded by the University of Plymouth (UK). Since 2018 the students who study for the bachelor programmes have the opportunity to graduate, in 3 years in Geneva, with 2 degrees: a Bachelor degree from the International Institute in Geneva and a BSc (hons) in Business Management from the University of Plymouth (UK).

The University of Plymouth has over 30’000 students and was ranked by the Times of Higher Education among the top 150 young universities worldwide in 2020.

All the bachelor programmes offers the opportunity of a double degree with the UK.

In their third year students are graded both by the professors of the International Institute in Geneva and the University of Plymouth (UK).

The undergraduate programmes have two entries in September and February.

The methods of instruction at the International Institute in Geneva are innovative and underline the importance of gaining an international perspective on management, digital, and international relations issues.

The students study a in multicultural environment and classes are limited to 30 students, providing the students the time to learn and access their professors. During their studies IIG students can spend a term abroad at one of the partner institutions including Boston University, ESIC in Madrid or American University in Dubai. During the academic year several study tours are organised such as the visit of Silicon Valley and a student delegation participates each year in the competition of the Model United Nations organised by Harvard University -World MUN.

Students have access to career services and alumni are invited back on campus to present the company or organisation for which they work. The Alumni spans over one hundred countries representing a unique opportunity for students to participate in a global network.

By choosing to study in a multicultural city at the International Institute in Geneva, where the student body represents over sixty nationalities, each student prepares themselves for a global education. The faculty from twenty countries will develop the analytical and decision making skills necessary to thrive in a competitive environment. The staff is dedicated to serving the needs of the students in areas including orientation, career planning and housing.

Facilities

The International Institute in Geneva (IIG) is located in a modern building close to the United Nations and the International Organizations in Geneva.

In addition to its learning and administrative facilities the campus also features a library, student center, computer center, academic and career counseling offices. A cafeteria is available in the building.
