International School of Lausanne
International Baccalaureate (IB) World School – We deliver education in Early Childhood, Primary Years, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes for children aged 3-18.
The world is increasingly interconnected. Many of today’s challenges require clear thinking, dialogue, and cooperation. ISL prepares children for the complexities and uncertainties of our multicultural, interdependent world so that they can contribute productively.
An ISL education provides young people with:
– a rigorous intellectual base so they can think critically
– opportunities for innovation and independent problem-solving
– the ability to effectively cooperate across cultural boundaries
– a genuine sense of caring for the well-being of all community members
– confidence and the courage to be themselves
Our students have achieved excellent academic results with an average 37.5 score in IB programmes results and a 100% success rate in 2022.
Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities
Sports
ISL participates in approximately 200 competitions throughout the school year–either hosted at ISL, at other Swiss venues, or even internationally. We have a team of dedicated coaches from within the ISL faculty, along with external coaches. They all work hard to ensure that each student has a memorable time.
41 competitive sport teams including: Basketball, tennis, swimming, badminton, volleyball, golf, gymnastics, football (soccer), track and field, netball, skiing.
Extra-curricular activities
At ISL, we offfer a wide and inclusive range of activities for students from Reception 4 to Year 13.
The goal of ISL’s activities is to help lay the groundwork for young people to remain active and involved throughout their life. The programmes are built around the idea of providing balance – balance across activities, balance over time and balance of opportunity.
By trying out new things, young people discover what they are good at, and are motivated to succeed. By providing the opportunity to increasingly specialise, we allow students to understand the need for commitment and hard work. Providing a developmentally appropriate route, we encourage young people to remain active and involved throughout their life.
