SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen

Curriculum: Teaching at SIS is based on the curriculum of the respective canton. This curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS.

The SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen offers bilingual education from kindergarten to grade 6 of primary school. On all levels, classes are held both in German and English. However, bilingualism is no prerequisite for admission.

Our bilingual kindergarten offers a well-supervised, safe and stimulating learning environment for children aged four to six. SIS has developed its own curriculum for children in this age group. Our kindergarten is the ideal preparation for the transition into the bilingual SIS primary school.

At our bilingual primary school, teaching is based on the cantonal curriculum. This state curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our primary school, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our bilingual college at SIS Zürich. Students can transfer to our school from public school system at any time.

Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities

Sports

Surrounded by our own garden and a large nearby park area, and with views of the Landiwiese and Lake Zürich, our students live and learn at a central but green location. Our playground invites children to run, climb and spin on the carousel. Students also enjoy themselves playing table tennis or soccer.

For sports and swimming lessons, we are allowed to use the buildings of the nearby public schools and swimming pool. Individual classes sometimes spend their lunch breaks at the Muraltengut or on the beautiful Landiwiese, always accompanied by supervisors.

Extra-curricular activities

SIS Swiss International School Zürich-Wollishofen is a day school. Including our optional before and after school care, the school day runs from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is important to us that students of all age groups feel happy and comfortable at our school, which is why we offer a range of services to cater for our students’ various needs.

Before and after school care is available to all our children.

All students at SIS Zürich-Wollishofen have the option of eating lunch in our cafeteria.

A school transport is offered from and to different pick-up and drop-off places along the Lake of Zürich as far as Wädenswil.

Our private day school provides a range of extracurricular activities and clubs for students of all ages, allowing them to develop skills that complement their school work or offer a welcome change from the regular academic programme.

SIS Zürich-Wollishofen offers a holiday club during the breaks in autumn, winter, spring and summer. For one week, the children enjoy taking part in a varied programme – including trips – under the supervision of an experienced team.
