SIS Swiss International School Zürich
Curriculum: Teaching at SIS is based on the curriculum of the respective canton. This curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS.
SIS Swiss International School Zürich provides a complete education from preschool through to secondary school and college. On all levels, subjects are taught in German and English. Bilingualism, however, is not a requirement for entry at any level.
Our bilingual Kindergarten offers a well-supervised, safe and stimulating learning environment for children aged four to six. SIS has developed its own curriculum for children in this age group. Our Kindergarten is the ideal preparation for the transition into the bilingual SIS Primary School.
At our bilingual Primary School, teaching is based on the curriculum of the respective canton. This state curriculum is supplemented by elements of international educational practice as well as by pedagogical standards developed by SIS. By attending our Primary School, children are ideally prepared for the transition into our Bilingual College. Students can transfer to our school from public school system at any time.
Following primary school, SIS Zürich offers a three-year advanced secondary school programme (bilingual Pre-College). Since the curriculum is similar to the one used at college level and classes are largely taught by college teachers, it offers students an ideal preparation for continuing their education in the four-year college programme.
At college level, SIS Zürich offers two attractive options to students: the Bilingual College and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With the Swiss Matura or the IB Diploma, there is no limit to the educational opportunities available to our students.
Sports and Extra-Curricular Activities
Sports
SIS Zürich is home to a complete school infrastructure. More specifically, this includes also sports areas such as: a gym with equipment facilities and locker rooms, outdoor facilities, multipurpose sports ground, playground for the younger students, a roof terrace and a recreational area for older students.
Extra-curricular activities
SIS Swiss International School Zürich is a day school. Including our optional before and after school care, the school day runs from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. It is important to us that students of all age groups feel happy and comfortable at our school, which is why we offer a range of services to cater for our students’ various needs.
All students at SIS Zürich have the option of eating lunch in our cafeteria.
Before and after school care is available to children in kindergarten and primary school.
Our private day school provides a range of extracurricular activities and clubs for students of all ages, allowing them to develop skills that complement their school work or offer a welcome change from the regular academic programme.
SIS Zürich offers a one-week holiday club during the breaks in autumn, winter and spring. The summer holiday club is two weeks. The children enjoy taking part in a varied programme – including trips – under the supervision of an experienced team.
