Curriculum and International Standards

Teaching at SIS Zürich follows the curriculum of the respective canton, enriched by elements of international educational practice and pedagogical standards developed by SIS.

Complete Education from Kindergarten to College

SIS Swiss International School Zürich offers a comprehensive education from kindergarten through secondary school and college. At all levels, instructors teach subjects in both German and English. However, bilingualism is not a requirement for entry at any stage.

Bilingual Kindergarten

Our bilingual Kindergarten provides a well-supervised, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged four to six. SIS has developed a unique curriculum for this age group, ideally preparing them for the transition into the bilingual SIS Primary School.

Bilingual Primary School

Teaching at our bilingual Primary School is based on the respective canton’s curriculum, supplemented by international educational practices and SIS’s pedagogical standards. Attending our Primary School prepares children for the transition into our Bilingual College. Students can transfer from the public school system at any time.

Bilingual Pre-College

Following primary school, SIS Zürich offers a three-year advanced secondary school program (bilingual Pre-College). With a curriculum similar to college-level courses and instruction primarily by college teachers, this program ideally prepares students for continuing their education in the four-year college program.

College Options: Bilingual College and IB Diploma Programme

At the college level, SIS Zürich presents two attractive options: the Bilingual College and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. With the Swiss Matura or the IB Diploma, students have unlimited educational opportunities.

Comprehensive School Infrastructure

SIS Zürich features a complete school infrastructure, including sports areas such as a gym with equipment facilities and locker rooms, outdoor facilities, a multipurpose sports ground, a playground for younger students, and a roof terrace and recreational area for older students.

Day School and Support Services

Operating as a day school, SIS Swiss International School Zürich offers a school day from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., including optional before and after school care. To cater to various student needs, we provide a range of services, ensuring all age groups feel comfortable and happy at our school.

Lunch is available in our cafeteria for all students, while before and after school care is provided for children in kindergarten and primary school.

Extracurricular Activities

Students of all ages can participate in various extracurricular activities and clubs, developing complementary skills or enjoying a break from their regular academic program.

Holiday Clubs

SIS Zürich hosts one-week holiday clubs during autumn, winter, and spring breaks, and a two-week summer holiday club. Children participate in a diverse program, including trips, under the supervision of an experienced team.

Exceptional Infrastructure and Accessibility

SIS Zürich is easily accessible by road and public transport and boasts outstanding infrastructure. The spacious school building includes two dozen classrooms, special-purpose rooms for arts, music, and woodwork, a gym, and a library.
