About Dover Court International School
Dover Court International School (DCIS), founded in 1972, is one of Singapore’s longest‑established international schools, offering a warm, inclusive, and academically ambitious environment for students aged 3 to 18. The school delivers a British‑based education complemented by international programmes, including the IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Heritage, Community, and Global Identity
Located on a 12‑acre green campus in the Dover district, DCIS combines heritage buildings with modern learning facilities, creating an inspiring environment with sports fields, playgrounds, science labs, a swimming pool, and specialist arts spaces. More than 60 nationalities are represented in the student body, creating a vibrant multicultural community that welcomes diversity and encourages global perspectives.
As part of the Nord Anglia Education family of premium international schools, DCIS students benefit from access to international programmes, cross‑school collaborations, and world‑class opportunities across more than 80 schools worldwide. This includes exclusive partnerships with MIT, The Juilliard School, and UNICEF, giving students unique experiences in STEAM, performing arts, and global citizenship.
Curriculum Across the School
Early Years and Primary
The Early Years programme (ages 3–5) follows a Reggio‑inspired, play‑based approach that encourages exploration, creativity, and early literacy and numeracy skills. As students move into Primary, they follow the English National Curriculum, enriched by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which uses thematic and interdisciplinary learning to help children make meaningful connections across subjects.
Secondary School
At Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), students study a broad range of subjects across humanities, sciences, arts, languages, mathematics, and technology. By Key Stage 4 (Years 9–11), students work toward I/GCSE qualifications, which are internationally recognised pathways that prepare students for post‑16 studies. DCIS students achieve strong outcomes, with 54% of IGCSE grades at A/A*.
Sixth Form
In Years 12 and 13, DCIS offers three pathways:
- IB Diploma Programme (IBDP)
- Individual IB Courses
- International BTEC Diploma in Business
This flexibility allows students to tailor learning to their academic strengths and university aspirations. The school consistently achieves excellent IB results, including a 36‑point average in 2025 with a high score of 44.
Graduates progress to leading universities such as Imperial College London, the University of Cambridge, UC Berkeley, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Melbourne.
Inclusion and Student Support
DCIS is widely recognised for its inclusive ethos. It supports students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), offering personalised intervention, differentiated teaching, and alternative pathways such as ASDAN for students who benefit from non‑traditional academic programmes.
Teaching Excellence
The school employs highly qualified teachers from around the world, many from the UK, and invests in continuous professional development through Nord Anglia’s global training platforms. Relationships are central to the school’s culture, with teachers known for understanding students individually and nurturing them academically and personally.
A Culture of Wellbeing and Opportunity
DCIS maintains a close‑knit, family‑oriented atmosphere where wellbeing, kindness, and community are prioritised. Families often describe the school as warm and welcoming, with a strong sense of connection across year groups. Students also engage in a wide range of co‑curricular activities, outdoor learning, leadership programmes, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, building resilience, teamwork, and independence
