The International School of Zug and Luzern (ISZL) is an independent, non-profit school serving the international community of Central Switzerland. Catering to students aged 3 to 18, ISZL offers a comprehensive education from Early Years to university preparation, creating a connected, inclusive, and inspiring environment for students, parents, faculty, and staff.
International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement Programs
As an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, ISZL is authorized to offer the Primary Years, Middle Years, and IB Diploma programs. In addition, students in Grades 11 and 12 have the option of taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams, which are audited by the College Board. ISZL is accredited by the prestigious Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), and operates with the approval of the educational authority of the Canton of Zug.

Athletics and Physical Education

The Athletics program focuses on developing students’ physical skills, cooperative interaction, and self-understanding. Physical Education is a compulsory part of the curriculum for students in the Primary and Middle Years Programs.
Organized events, such as Games Day and Sports Day, are planned for younger students, in addition to various indoor and outdoor sports and activities, including swimming lessons. In Middle School, extracurricular sports include soccer, tennis, basketball, swimming, skiing, track and field, volleyball, softball, and golf. Recreational clubs, such as climbing, running, uni-hockey, and yoga, are also offered.
In High School, competitive sports include soccer, volleyball, rugby, basketball, swimming, skiing, track and field, tennis, softball, and golf, with seasonal clubs like sailing, kayaking, running, fitness, dance, and yoga also available.
Clubs and Activities for Diverse Interests
ISZL offers a range of clubs and activities across all school divisions to cater to the diverse interests of its students. The core program incorporates elements such as athletics, fitness, music, drama, human movement, visual art, craft/design, and teamwork and leadership. Clubs are led by the school’s teaching staff.
