About Webster University Geneva
Webster University is a private, not-profit American university (St. Louis, USA, est. in 1915) that offers full bachelor and master degree programs in Switzerland in English. Webster University Geneva, established in 1978, carries the same institutional accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission as the main campus (St. Louis, USA, since 1915), so degrees earned are fully recognized in Switzerland and abroad. Academic options include Business, Communications, Computer Science and Cybersecurity, Finance, International Relations, Migration and Refugee Studies, International Human Rights, Media, Photography and Psychology, with an array of liberal arts electives ranging from Art History and Philosophy to skill-based courses in media, computer applications, communications and public speaking. The campus is in an intimate park-style setting, with about 350 degree students per year, yet also very diverse (about 90 nationalities represented), offering small class sizes (average size 14) and singe-room student accommodations both on campus and in centre-city Geneva. Campus services include academic advising, counselling, career services for internship and job search, student organizations and sports to support holistic student development.
Advanced standing is offered to many students from International Baccalaureate, Swiss maturite, French bac and American AP programs, which often reduces the four-year American bachelor down to 3 or 3.5 years). About 50% of students pursue an internship during their studies. Bachelor students can also study for an additional year to pursue a masters degree in several areas. Over 4,500 have graduated from Webster University Geneva, living and working worldwide, and the campus also hosts over 100 study abroad students each year from universities across the U.S. and beyond.
